| Reedy & Sykes A Brief History of our Firm Founded in 1983, Reedy & Sykes is the first architectural and planning firm to be located in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Outgrowing the first office, the firm moved to its present location on Elk Ave. in October of 1987. The firm has a staff of four professionals with a work history in the design and planning of government, commercial, and residential developments. In July of 1993 we opened a second office in Kingsport, TN to better serve our clients in that region. We work with local engineering consultants which enables us to offer complete architectural/engineering services to our clients. As a small firm, we pride ourselves in being able to provide very personal service to our clients. Our size dictates that one of the two principal architects will be in charge of all projects, providing a close working knowledge of the details of the project. This allows us to closely monitor the project, both during design in our office and later, in the field, during actual construction. The one area we are consistently complimented on is the completeness of our design drawings. We think that a project should be completely designed before leaving our office. The contractors with whom we have worked appreciate this. While details may be adjusted in the field, we think they should be thought out before construction begins. We like to think our thoroughness allows a project to develop smoothly and avoid time-consuming problems during construction. We think our clients appreciate and deserve this. |
